Apartment compost tips from Is it Easy Being Green?

I was talking to a student who organizes green awareness events on Georgia’s campus the other day. I asked her if students in the dorms, the eco-minded ones, compost. She had no clue. I imagine it must be difficult, with all the other peer pressures of college, to keep a stinky, brown container in your room. Having never spent a night in a dorm, I’ve no experience of the stuffiness you must feel. And as far as composting goes, I’ve always had these wonderful Athens, Ga. backyards in which to throw my food scraps. 

How does one compost in a small, cramped, urban or apartment-like environment? Well, Is it easy being green laid out some great tips recently. It may be helpful to those of you not able to throw coffee grounds and banana peels out the kitchen window.
