Kelly Girtz, a super commissioner who in his spare time teaches school, spent Tuesday of his spring break walking throughout his district picking up trash. I caught Girtz in the act walking down Barber St. with a five-gallon bucket in one hand and a trash picker in the other.
“You’ve got my vote,” I yelled at him from my errand-running car. “Where’s my camera when I need it?”
He only does it for the photo-ops, he joked.
